Hey there, Katie here!
Hey there, I’m Katie! Based in Atlanta, 38 years young, a homebody at heart, and a huge fan of Mexican food. I could eat it for every meal of my day (and sometimes I do). If I could live both on the beach and in the mountains, I would. Things that make me the most happy are dance parties, my husband (married 5 years!), our sweet babies (15 months apart!), road trips, and aesthetic coffeeshops.
I majored in Musical Theatre (my first love and secondary profession) so, I often see my life through song and dance. I believe every person is creative and created to come alive and awake to their passions/gifts. I’m a big cheerleader of chasing dreams because I’ve seen they are possible to catch. I have a weakness for chocolate and a deep love for Jesus. I am a huge fan of Fall, daydreams and dad jokes.
I owned my first camera when I was 7. I would line up my dolls across my bed and capture their vibrant personalities (or super still, stuffed bodies). Back then, I had no idea I would be doing this full-time as my primary profession. I captured my first wedding in 2009 and never stopped. Since then, I’ve learned that having someone follow you around with a camera is vulnerable and a little unnatural for most of us, unless you’re a model (which you might be!). My hope is to become less of a stranger and more of a friend.
I do not take this job lightly- it’s an incredible honor to capture families and couples who entrust me with their most important moments and milestones! I am seriously humbled to my core to be invited into these sacred spaces and cannot wait to create with you.
Photo Philosophy:
I love the art of storytelling and see photography as that. My job is way more than placing you in a perfectly posed position and asking you to smile - In fact, it’s so much more! As an enneagram 4 (to all who feel me), authenticity is one of my highest values. My priority is capturing the real, raw moments that are already happening- naturally. Come as you are, be yourself, we’re in this together! I’ll be your biggest fan along the way to encourage fun, connection and a celebratory experience that you’ll walk away from, with images to remember it by.
